Solution-Focused Counseling for Adults | Dogwood Counseling

Solution focused, goal oriented.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) offering telehealth services to adults ages 23 and older. I am licensed in Ohio (telehealth and In-Office), Arizona, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, allowing me to serve clients across multiple states.

My practice focuses on supporting individuals facing depression, anxiety, relationship and communication challenges, life transitions, grief and loss, and stress management. I work collaboratively with clients to help them develop and achieve their personal goals using a strengths-based, values-oriented, solution-focused, and trauma-informed approach.

I believe in meeting clients where they are and incorporating diverse resources into the therapeutic process. This includes videos, podcasts, books, and other tools tailored to each person's needs and learning style.

Background and Education

I hold Bachelor's degrees in both Psychology and Exercise Physiology from Ohio University and a Master's degree in Counseling and Human Development from Walsh University. Before entering the counseling field, I spent 10 years working in Division I athletics ( Ohio University, Wake Forest University), where I focused on developing athletic performance. This experience gave me valuable insight into goal-setting, motivation, resilience, and the powerful connection between physical and mental wellbeing. Over the course of my career I have worked in community mental health, for EAP’s large and small, as well as other great private practices in our area. I am proud to be back at my private practice full time, to serve my local community and beyond.

Holistic Approach

My background in exercise physiology and athletics, combined with my current role as a yoga instructor in our community, reinforces my commitment to a holistic approach to mental health and wellness. I believe that true wellness encompasses mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health, and I bring this integrated perspective to my therapeutic work.

I have been fortunate to work with variety of people: from the break room to the boardroom, from teenagers to adults adjusting to retirement, First Responders, Active and Retired Military, medical/legal/financial professionals, and weekend warriors to professional athletes. All of them have taught me so much, that while each person and concern is unique, all of us are striving to be the best, healthiest versions of ourselves.

Personal Life

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and our rescue dog. My personal interests include reading, vegetable gardening, backpacking, trail running, cooking, and experiencing live music—activities that keep me grounded and connected to the values I bring into my practice.
