Insurance/Rates

Fees
The standard fee for psychotherapy services is $160 per 53-minute session.

Insurance
Dogwood Counseling is in-network with select insurance plans. Insurance coverage varies by plan and is subject to deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.

Self-Pay & Out-of-Network
Clients who are self-pay or using out-of-network benefits are responsible for the full session fee at the time of service. Superbills are available upon request for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined solely by the insurance plan and is not guaranteed.

A note about payment options

Some clients prefer to use insurance, while others choose to self-pay for simplicity, flexibility, or privacy. Both options are welcome.

Why choose self-pay? Here are some possible advantages

  • You won’t have a diagnosis label permanently attached to your health record.

  • Your records are protected, which means all information about you, including very personal information, cannot be obtained by the insurance company.

  • Your care is not dictated by the insurance company, but by the collaborative efforts formed by my professional expertise and your personal preferences and goals.

  • Please contact Dogwood Counseling if you have any questions about your payment options to determine what plan is best for you.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, clients who do not have health insurance or who choose not to have a claim submitted to their health plan have the right to receive a written Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of counseling services.

Dogwood Counseling LLC will provide a Good Faith Estimate when services are scheduled within the timeframes established by federal law or at any time upon request. The estimate will describe the services reasonably expected to be provided and their anticipated charges based on the information available at that time. Because the length and frequency of counseling depend on each client’s individual needs, the actual number of sessions and total cost may differ from the estimate. A Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive services from Dogwood Counseling LLC.

If a bill from Dogwood Counseling LLC is at least $400 more than the amount listed in your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute-resolution process. A dispute generally must be initiated within 120 calendar days of the date on the original bill.

To request a Good Faith Estimate or ask questions about expected costs, contact Dogwood Counseling LLC at mtolloti@dogwoodcounseling.org or 216-365-8525.

For additional information about your federal rights, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
